“Voltage Purple” Courses Through The Nike Shox TL

For a majority of the 2020s, you’ve been able to grab a pair of Shox from Nike.com, either in the remnants of a run started in 2019 or in the follow-up retro effort that began in 2023. It’s notable to spell it out as such; the TL and its associate the R4 have simply been some of the most common sights in the Nike catalog this decade.

Even with that reliability and the unceasing demand for Y2K styles, Nike has taken experimental flair into their approach to the Shox line in 2025. Rather than simple sporty throwback looks, gradients remain one of the clearest aesthetics on modern Shox releases, something again visited with the Shox TL “Voltage Purple” on tap.

It’s a very subtle ombre between that shade and deep “Blue Force,” but you get an even breakdown between the two shades as you go from the base of the mesh to the lace-stay. While one simply can’t substitute for the other, the resemblance between this palette and that of the Air Jordan 5 “Grape” can’t be ignored, speaking to how past-era combos still stick around as acceptable options in the wider Nike, Inc. empire.
